If you’re reading this article, it means you can’t say no to a cup of chai latte. The drink is sometimes creamy, sometimes spiced, or even sweetened and caffeinated.

Chai latte, in comparison to coffee latte, is way creamier and darker in terms of flavor.

So, if you enjoy this kind of essence, you’ve got to take a look at the 9 best chai latte K-cups I’ve reviewed for you.

Now, remember that chai is prepared differently everywhere. This applies to the different manufacturers of the K-cups.

But the starting point remains the same. The drink starts with black tea combined with spices such as clove, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, etc.

If you’d like to learn more, read through each review thoroughly and find out all about the particular ingredients, flavor, taste, compatibility, and more.

Our Reviews For The Best Chai Latte K-Cups For Keurig Brewers

#1 Twinings Of London Chai Latte Tea K-Cups

Twinings Of London Chai Latte Tea K-Cups

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

You can’t reject a cup of chai latte especially when it’s from Twinings of London.

If you are sick of drinking regular coffee, this drink has the perfect flavor to change things up. It’s a blend of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and cardamom. The ideal drink for soothing your senses.

The taste is spicy, aromatic, and creamy – just the way it should be.

There’s a trick to blending a variety of spices without the drink becoming too overwhelming. Suffice it to say that the Twinings of London has mastered that trick very well.

Best brewed with steamed milk, Twinings gives you a good coffee kick like that of an espresso but with a spiced chai flavor.

You can use it with Keurig brewing systems but not the latest 2.0 version.

PROS

  • Rich taste
  • Soothing
  • Ideal levels of caffeine

CONS

  • Not compatible with the latest brewing systems

#2 Café Escapes Chai Latte K-Cup

Café Escapes Chai Latte K-Cup

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

If you’re serious about brewing, Café Escapes is the way to go.

It contains black tea and a blend of exotic spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, black peppers, and a hint of clove. Each sip will be nice and smooth with plenty of flavor in every cup.

Each cup reveals the subtlety of the rich ingredients. Plus, you get the quintessential caffeine juice to keep you active all day long.

These cups contain less than 10 mg of caffeine content. They also contain milk which gives it a creamy and rich flavor.

Unlike the previous pick, these are Keurig 2.0 compatible, so you’re never short on delicious beverages due to incompatibility issues.

Why stick to artificially-flavored drinks that leave a bad taste in your mouth once consumed, when Café Escapes has no lingering aftertaste?

Let me warn you of the expenses, though: buying small quantities of these cups would cost you a fortune.

However, if your heart is set on these, buying in bulk would be a good idea. That way, you’ll be able to enjoy its addictive flavor for a long while, too!

Moreover, if your dream combination is a medium roast coffee mixed with exotic spices, you’ll hardly find a better option.

PROS

  • Gluten-free
  • Compatible with all Keurig K-Cup pod single-serve coffee makers
  • Smooth
  • Less caffeine than most of the others

CONS

  • Expensive
  • Contains artificial sweeteners

#3 Cha4tea Chai Black Tea K Cups

Black Tea Pods

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

If you’re tired of the traditional ways of brewing coffee, switching to the Cha4TEA Chai Black Tea would be a brilliant idea.

We are always looking for an adventure when it comes to trying new flavors and I can assure you that buying these cups will completely transform the way you drink coffee.

The Cha4tea contains pure herbal ingredients such as ginger, clove, star anise, and cardamom, but the ones that are worth highlighting are organic cinnamon and Assam tea.

They are quite the game-changers because they give each cup a unique aroma and flavor.

Brew it with any Keurig brewing system, including Keurig 2.0, and you’ll see its beauty unravel in every cup.

While other products that offer the same thing are weaker in flavor and fail to meet the spicy taste, these don’t disappoint.

If you’re someone who hates drinking the same flavor again and again, you’d be amazed to know that this product offers a variety of flavors in each box. So, you’ll never get bored of drinking the same beverage.

However, there is a small issue worth noting about the quality of the K-cups. They tend to tear or break apart when in the Keurig machine.

PROS

  • Unique aroma
  • Compatibility

CONS

  • Cups sometimes break apart in the machine

#4 Tazo Classic Chai Latte K-Cup

Tazo Classic Chai Latte K-Cup

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

A good cup of coffee gives you infinite joy and calm.

You only need to slightly lean into a freshly-brewed cup and inhale its aroma. You instantly feel rejuvenated and alive. Such is the effect of the Tazo Classic.

It contains black tea, ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom, all of which add great taste and aroma to the coffee.

Never before has flavor met purpose in chai latte K-cups, and this brand offers just the right blend of dashing ingredients.

They’re compatible with Keurig’s single-cup brewing systems.

Each cup contains a full body of black tea, but they do differ in flavor due to the wide variety of ingredients. That way, you’re never bored of drinking from the same box more than once.

Each cup contains less than 150 calories, with milk and no artificial sweeteners.

But if you are used to drinking Starbucks chai teas, let me tell you that this one tastes quite distinctly from the ones you are used to.

PROS

  • Dashing ingredients
  • Compatibility
  • No artificial sweeteners

CONS

  • Expensive
  • High level of calories

#5 Grove Square Chai Latte

Chai Latte

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

Caring about what’s in your drink is a good thing. You don’t want your first cup to have a strong effect on your body.

Thanks to Grove Square’s creamy, light, and natural flavor, you don’t have to worry about upsetting your daily routine.

It offers a delectable variety of ingredients including non-fat dairy and coconut oil. It also has a gourmet taste for those sensitive to strong coffee

In addition to definitely being better than most, it fits the bill for a balanced and pleasant coffee taste, too.

You’d look forward to spending your evenings on a chilly day with this. The texture of each cup is creamy and light.

These cups are renowned for their taste and scent of star anise, but if that taste is too strong for you, I’d recommend using a little bit of vanilla creamer on it. You’ll see that it will be even tastier.

However, one complaint could be that there aren’t enough spices in this product. For me, it certainly lacks the warmth of ginger and the tanginess of cardamom or cinnamon.

Another complaint is that it doesn’t work on the Keurig 2.0 coffee maker.

PROS

  • Rich, gourmet taste
  • Natural flavor
  • Affordable

CONS

  • Incompatibility
  • Not enough spices

#6 Starbucks Tazo Tea K-Cup Chai Pack

Tazo Chai

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

As far as chai latte tea goes, Starbucks has made quite an impact on people. It always packs a robust blend of exotic spices and coffee.

The Starbucks Tazo Tea Chai Pack is a perfect example of this trait.

It features cardamom, cinnamon, black tea, and black pepper, all infused with the goodness of coffee that is creamy, light, and 100% pure.

On top of all these ingredients, nothing about the taste of this chai pack feels overwhelming, either.

It offers smooth, rich, and flavorful tea blends with every cup, and the best part is that it has no lingering aftertaste. Rather, it leaves you wanting more.

However, if you’re looking for something more reminiscent of coffee, let me tell you that this pack is more chai than latte. It means that it will barely give you a caffeine kick; the only thing it offers in that regard is a slight taste of coffee for added effect.

The good part is that they’re compatible with all Keurig brewers.

PROS

  • Compatibility
  • No lingering aftertaste

CONS

  • Little caffeine

#7 Celestial Seasonings India Spice Chai Tea K-Cup

Celestial Seasonings India Spice Chai Tea K-Cup

CHECK ON AMAZON >>

It’s only natural to associate chai tea latte with Indian seasonings, and if you’re looking for a tea beverage that honors this association, this is the one.

Each cup is carefully crafted using black tea and exotic spices.

The ingredients offer more in the way of antioxidants than caffeine, so you’ll reap the benefits of satisfying your craving and fortify your health.

This is a good tea substitute once you add your milk of choice, but it’s quite sweet by itself as well.

Adding a sweetener such as honey or cinnamon sugar might be a good idea, though.

If you don’t see a circle with a check stamp on the package, they probably aren’t compatible with the latest Keurig brewing devices.

However, the brand promised to release a new product line that will be compatible with all machines.

PROS

  • Healthy
  • Full of exotic spices

CONS

  • Incompatibility

What Is A Chai Tea Latte?

Two Cups Of Chai Tea Latte

The drink is very popular in coffee shops.

It’s the same as a latte, which is steamed milk with espresso, but a chai tea latte contains an extract of spiced tea in place of espresso.

The beverage is a variation on the masala chai, and accordingly, its taste is similar to that.

However, traditional masala chai requires you to boil the tea with spices in milk and water. Chai tea latte, on the other hand, is the outcome of a combination of steamed milk with concentrated spiced tea.

Just as the end-product of steamed milk and espresso differs from the end-product of milk and coffee, mixing spiced tea with steamed milk also produces a different result.

When having an espresso latte at a café, the ingredient which is often included with the steamed milk is a strong coffee, whereas chai tea latte in the same café would have a foamy, lighter texture. This quality is the result of steaming the milk.

Lastly, it might also be worth noting that “chai” already means tea in Eastern languages like Russian, Arabic, and Chinese. Nonetheless, that doesn’t stop brands from using it together with “tea” while naming their products.

Also, if you have some time, you can make your own, homemade Chai Latte:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Agx9Cx03HQ8

Anyway as you can see, it’s quite a time-consuming recipe. So K Cup Pods are still the way to go in my opinion.

Chai Tea vs. Chai Latte

The main difference between the two is that of flavor.

A tea will need extra sweetening ingredients to strengthen its flavor, but a latte already has a strong flavor due to the way it’s made.

How so? Let me explain the process.

  • Chai tea – In simple terms, tea is derived from loose tea leaves. To prepare one, you need to brew those leaves in hot milk and add spices to further intensify the flavors and aroma. After it simmers, you can use honey or sugar to sweeten it up.
  • Chai latte – Latte, on the other hand, is prepared using syrup or powder that imitates the traditional “chai” flavor. Some of them, like Skinnygirl, even feature natural sweeteners like hot chocolate or hot cocoa in their making. Therefore, they end up being richer and more flavorful.

Chai Latte K-Cups Nutritional Information

Chai Latte Nutrition Facts

The thing about K-cups is that they come in a variety of flavors, so it’s only logical to assume that the pods contain extra ingredients that add calories, carbs, and fat to the drink.

Once you get a grip on how much of each element is present in your drink, you can make a more informed decision regarding your diet.

Fat and Calories

The blends consist of milk, spiced tea, and sugar.

You’ll find 60 calories in each pod, and 23 of these calories come from fat. The saturated fat content is mostly around 2.5 grams.

That equals to 13-14 percent of the recommended daily consumption set by USDA standards.

These saturated fats remain solid and intact at room temperature and contribute to increased cholesterol, which can, in turn, prove to be a risk factor for heart diseases.

Therefore, it’s highly advisable to limit the amount of saturated fats in your daily intake.

Protein and Carbs

Sweetened cups have 9 grams of carbs. Sugar provides most of the carbs found in the drink.

As you might already know, sugar equals empty calories, meaning that it has minimal nutritional benefits.

As for the protein content, it’s only 2% of the recommended daily consumption set by USDA (50 to 60 grams daily).

Sodium

6% of sodium, which is 133 milligrams, is present in every K-cup. Too much sodium in your daily diet can cause circulatory problems, heart diseases, and high BP.

Other Considerations

Making Chai Tea

These products may contain other ingredients worth knowing about before drinking. There may be allergens or other additives that may have unwanted effects on health.

  • Allergies – These pods contain tree nuts as well. They may trigger allergic reactions.
  • Controversial nutrients – What’s also worth noting is that K-cups may contain soy products. While the jury is still out on whether soy is good or bad, you could take a look at the evidence to clear out your doubts.
  • Sugar – Chai is supposed to offer health benefits since it contains spices, herbs, and tea, and these ingredients offer antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory and healthy digestion properties. However, it is only healthy until you add a huge heap of sugar to it. I’m not saying that you should go off sugar completely, but maybe just make sure that your beverage is not entirely sugar-laden. Moreover, if you want to buy sugar-free or gluten-free products, there are plenty of those too, such as the Café Escapes one I’ve reviewed above.

Q: How Much Caffeine Is In A Chai Tea Latte?

  • In a mix of chai tea latte – A pre-prepared version of it works by adding either milk or water to the powdered or concentrate form. In the case of the concentrate, a single cup offers 30-35mg of caffeine. In the powdered version, the caffeine level increases to 35-55mg.
  • In brewed chai tea – One K-cup or tea bag of this is packed with 50mg of caffeine.
  • In a café latte – In the coffee shop, expect no less than 95mg of caffeine per 16 ounces. 12 ounces is obviously slightly less, at around 70mg of caffeine. Typical café lattes are prepared with steamed milk and spiced tea and they come in either a 12-ounce or 16-ounce size.

Final Words

Once you’ve had the best of these K-cups you can never go back.

They’re deliciously creamy and so easy to make.

You don’t have to go to a Starbucks to buy a high-priced drink anymore. Just buy a single pack of these and you’re good to go!

Drinking these tea substitutes is not just about the flavor. Yes, they contain cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black tea, and black pepper, but they’re also rich in antioxidants such as ginger.

Each cup I’ve reviewed is infused with incredible flavors and aroma. Once you taste it, you won’t regret your decision and go back to drinking plain coffee or tea.
